Course Description:

This course is designed to give the maintenance technician an in-depth knowledge of the VPS4 Industrial Gas Turbine Engine Package. Major subjects covered are:

  1. Detailed system and component operation
  2. Troubleshooting to the component level
  3. Inspection/servicing requirements and procedures
  4. Proper use of the available maintenance publications

Proper safety and good shop practices are also stressed. Comprehension of material is evaluated using a Pre/Final exam comparison. Practical activity is used to enhance the learning process and includes:

  1. Component identification
  2. System flow tracing
  3. Basic servicing

Due to the amount of material covered and practical activities, normal class size is limited to 5 students.
