Quality Engineer

Location: Greer, SC USA
Reports To: Director of Quality & Supplier Development

Supplier

  • Responsible for driving improvement in supplier performance.
  • Responsible for defining quality requirements that apply to supplier (Vericor Quality & Delivery Procedures Manual (VQDP) and Quality Provisions (QP)).
  • Responsible for flow-down and training of supplier on Vericor quality requirements.
  • Responsible for notification and corrective action to address non-conforming products from the (CIA, SCAR).
  • Responsible for management of Supplier Approval Request (SAR) process
  • Perform quality system (ISO 9001), process, and product audits at
  • Conduct manufacturing and technical reviews at
  • Manage supplier ATS (Authorization to Ship) process
  • Perform First Article Inspection Review (FAIR) for suppliers
  • Manage approved supplier program for Special Process suppliers
  • Responsible for supplier performance metrics
  • Process owner for Supplier Quality (MF)

Customer

  • Driving resolution of customer issues to ensure root cause, containment, and corrective action are identified, completed, and are effective.
  • Performing effectiveness reviews of the action taken to resolve customer issues.

Internal

  • Support the design, implementation, and continual improvement of the Vericor quality management
  • Responsible for identifying and driving internal process improvements by recommending changes and leading process improvement teams.
  • Work with internal personnel to develop and implement corrective action plans to address process failures and non-conforming products produced by Greer
  • Support assembly and test on manufacturability and producibility for products
  • Responsible for ensuring containment of non-conforming parts at Greer
  • Backup for Vericor Quality Specialist and Vericor Quality Representative (VQR)
  • Perform IHR inspections
  • Conduct internal quality system
  • Back up process owner for Quality Assurance (QA)
  • BS/BA in Engineering with no less than 5 years of applicable professional experience in quality
  • Demonstrated business acumen and technical
  • Ability to interface effectively with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, field service, program management and finance functions.
  • Detail oriented, diligent, well organized, proven track record of delivery on
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, changing
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality System
  • Strong customer satisfaction mindset with ability to enhance internal/external customer

 

  • Six Sigma or equivalent quality assurance
  • Experience with bills of material, source control, technical drawings, and manufacturing of industrial products and
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e., fabrication, castings, forgings, machining, processes ).
  • Familiarity with aero-derivative gas turbine
  • High level of competency in MS Office
  • Strong written and oral communication
