Project Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Scope

The Project Engineer will function as a significant contributor within Vericor’s Engineering team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in gas turbines and experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects. The position will support the entire lifecycle of Vericor’s gas turbine product lines, from design through manufacturing and into service. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with gas turbine systems, proficiency in engineering design principles and project management, and is familiar with manufacturing processes and configuration management.

    Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering activities for turbine development, production, and maintenance projects.

    · Ensure project milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met across design, procurement, and manufacturing phases.

    · Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to define, maintain, and improve Vericor’s engineering drawings, Bills of Material, and specifications in accordance with configuration management best practices.

    · Work directly with Vericor’s manufacturing and test facility in Greer, South Carolina to ensure top-quality while minimizing technical risk through review of technical questions or concerns.

    · Provide technical support for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) work scopes.

    · Provide technical input during design reviews, customer meetings, and field support events.

    · Provide technical support to Vericor’s Supply Chain organization in developing new and existing manufacturing suppliers, which provide parts and accessories that comprise Vericor’s gas turbines.

    • BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
    • 3+ years of experience, preferably with Gas Turbine Engines.
    • Experience in using 3D CAD software, especially Siemens NX, for modelling and assemblies is a plus.
    • Knowledge of GD&T in accordance with ASME standards.
    • Familiarity with configuration management principles, tools, and processes (e.g. PDM/PLM systems).
    • Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and assembly is desired.
    • Strong interest or experience in aero-derivative gas turbine engine technology and associated physical sciences – thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials sciences.
    • Hands-on experience supporting gas turbine engine build, test, or overhaul is preferred.
    • Exceptional Microsoft Office familiarity and presentation skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, Teams, etc.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as multi-tasking abilities, strong analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, and time-management skills.

    • Must be authorized to work in the US
