Position Summary
Vericor is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to support quality inspection and compliance activities for gas turbine engines and components at our Greer, South Carolina facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products meet technical, contractual, and quality system requirements while supporting production needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections on gas turbine engines and components to verify compliance with technical data, contracts, and company standards.
- Use precision measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth and bore mics, CMM, etc.) to complete dimensional inspections and validations.
- Conduct visual inspections and in-process dimensional checks.
- Review process documentation and travelers for accuracy and completeness.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical documentation.
- Perform Verification of Build (VOB) requirements.
- Document completed operations and maintain accurate quality records.
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Policy and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Move between production assignments as needed to support operational requirements.
- Maintain company tooling and inspection equipment, ensuring calibration and reliability.
- Track and analyze quality metrics, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts, including root cause and corrective/preventive actions.
- Serve as a reviewer for QA, Shop Operations, and Logistics Management procedures.
- Participate in cross-training and support training of other inspectors.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards and report unsafe conditions.
- U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting gas turbine components, including assembly and disassembly.
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and quality documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar software.
- Ability to pass a vision exam with sufficient visual acuity for inspections.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results on time.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements.
- Experience with bills of material, source control, technical drawings, and industrial manufacturing processes.
- Previous MRO or FAR 145 repair station experience.
