Supplier Manufacturing Engineer

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

This role will be responsible for the management of the supply chain with respect to manufacturability, process controls, and repair development. As the technical lead for supply chain development and support, you will lead complex projects and improvement initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to contribute to Vericor’ s business strategy and supplier success.

Essential Functions

· Identify, develop, and qualify suppliers for materials, services, parts and components at all manufacturing levels, including repairs.

· Identify new suppliers and manufacturing productivity improvements to reduce costs and lead time.

· Perform and complete manufacturing and technical reviews at new suppliers and for new parts.

· Support Purchasing and Manufacturing by developing repair processes and technical Statements of Work (SOW) for internal and/or supplier execution of repairs.

· Evaluate supplier manufacturability and producibility for new product introduction.

· Support the disposition of Request for Material Review Actions (RMRA), Defective Material Reports (DMR), Self-Assessment Reports (SAR), Fixed Process (FP), Supplier Corrective Actions for root cause and corrective action.

· Act as First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) auditor for technical aspects of the review and approval process.

· Support continuous improvement of the Vericor Quality Delivery Procedures (VQDP) Manual and assure VQDP compliance.

· Support supplier audits as needed

· Interface effectively with quality, manufacturing, engineering, finance and program management functions.

· Collaborate with functional leadership to develop and implement strategy, improvements, and changes related to supplier quality, cost and manufacturability.

· Focus on cost out and manufacturability.
    • REQUIRED:· BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.· Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. Any directly related to gas turbines is a plus.

      · Demonstrated business acumen and technical aptitude: ability to gain a thorough understanding of gas turbine technology, engineering, manufacturing and standards within the first year.

      · Detail oriented, diligent, well organized, proven track record of delivering on time

      · Demonstrated self-starter capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

      · Experience with bills of material, source control, technical drawings, and manufacturing of industrial products and services.

      · Knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. fabrication, castings, forgings, machining, special processes etc.).

      · This role will require significant supplier engagement. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, and time-management skills.

      · Experience in Root Cause Analysis tools and methodology ie. Fishbone/Ishikawa, 8 Step Process, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), etc.

      · Strong customer satisfaction mindset with ability to enhance internal/external stakeholder relationships.

      · Ability to interface effectively with and lead cross-functional teams

      · High level of competency in MS Office applications– Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc.

      · Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management System

      · US Citizen or Green Card holder

    • DESIRED:· Knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS9102· Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) experience

      · Internal or Supplier Auditor training

      · PMI PMP, or other project management certifications

      · Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher

      · Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen

      · Familiarity with standard terms and conditions in supplier relationships
